Pennies in Their Pocket                                             18.01.22 – 19.02.23

‘Fortune has smiled on our collection today as some kind soul has left 36 new minted pennies on the plate, and like treasure their brightness shines amongst the copper as jewels in crisp sunlight.

I stood at the door bidding good Sunday to the last of my congregation and pondered at their cleanliness, the fine tooled detail of her majesty our queen on the obverse looking wonderful radiant in profile and with such a pleasing countenance.

Britannia on the reverse sat most solid and true and I marvelled how this great country of ours seems destined to be a light of hope and truth throughout the world and over the seas; a beacon to others less fortunate and pray this remains so in perpetuity…’
